The report indicates a 2.75x increase in ransomware-linked encounters, yet attacks that reach the encryption stage have decreased threefold over the past two years. This decline is attributed to automatic attack disruption. Notably, over 90% of the attacks that did progress to the ransom stage originated from unmanaged devices, highlighting the need for organizations to manage all network-connected devices effectively.
Techscam traffic has surged significantly since 2021, outpacing both malware and phishing activities. The report notes that most techscams stem from malicious ad platforms, targeting users through fake support services and fraudulent schemes. To combat this, organizations are encouraged to implement blocklists for known malicious domains and utilize AI detection models to enhance threat identification.
The report emphasizes that nation-state actors are increasingly using AI to enhance their cyber influence operations. This proactive approach helps strengthen defenses against evolving threats and ensures the responsible use of AI technologies.
